BACK UP PARTS?!
17 Sep 2012, 14:42
Why is it important to have back up parts that you know would normally wear out faster than any other parts? Reasons are:
1.) Your equipment will not have a down time.
2.) When your equipment is continuously running when needed for service, customer is served.
3.) When customer is served, profit line booms!
The other big hidden cost for not maintaining back up parts are your expedited parts shipping cost. Your office does not have one pen, but a lot of pens just in case you run out of ink and you need more to finish processing your paper work. This practice should also apply in your kitchen.
For most business owners especially, restaurant and food/beverage service industry, the economy seems to slowly gain its momentum back up. The opportunity to make more money is great when you have a PLAN B. It is hard to see the numbers go down especially when you know it is part of not having your equipment running when you need it the most! To avoid the painful process of what ifs in your mind, try to purchase back up parts for the one's you know causes your equipment to go down.
This is where the saying of "You have to spend money, to make money", applies.
FRYMASTER 1061644SP & 1061645SP
9 Aug 2012, 15:02
For customers who are looking to purchase or replace Frymaster part#1061644SP and #1061645SP for MODEL 1824/2424G, you need to know that both of these parts need to be special ordered.
For down time saving tips, order two units of any parts that you have to special order. Not only that your establishment will save down time, you will also save on extra shipping and/or any additional handling fees in the future. If you want to avoid paying an overnight, next-day-air or 2nd-day-air freight, it is best to stack up your order and have a back up part especially for busy season rather than, paying extra or additional shipping and handling charges each time you order any part separately.
Your profit margin will be much better especially, if you have to special order any part during the time when factories and manufacturers raise their prices. If you haven't noticed yet, factories and manufacturers do raise their prices either quarterly, bi-annually and yearly.
Be wise! Have a back up part at all times.
HOW TO SEARCH FOR DISCONTINUED OR OBSOLETE PARTS
2 Aug 2012, 22:31
When you are looking for a discontinued part or an obsolete part, make sure that you do have the correct part number.
If the correct part number is not available, have the model and serial number of your equipment ready for research on a counter part or for cross referencing.
In some cases, either the model or serial number or both numbers are not visible because the equipment is too old. The reason is because, those numbers have grease or gunk build up, faded away, or had just rubbed off. In some occasion, the equipment was bought from a previous owner and does not have this information at all or equipment is home made. In any case, you should call the manufacturer directly and ask a copy of owner's manual and/or products schematics. Manufacturers normally have a website, where these types of information are readily available online on their webpage and can be accessed easily. Better yet, call and ask for the exact product number or part replacement, if the exact part you are looking for is no longer available for whatever reason.
For home made equipment, such as hot dog carts for an example; should have list of parts used or put together for future reference.
These tips will save you time, energy and most of all your bottom line.
